XPS 8300, stops working when it sleeps

Hello folks!
My usually trusty XPS 8300 is on the fritz. It started a few weeks ago.

When it would go to sleep, upon "waking it up" my monitor would wake up with it, but say "no signal". If I forced the computer to turn off, then re-start, it is usually fine, but not always. Sometimes it still does not recognize the monitor after a clean startup. other times it does not recognize/power the mouse or keyboard.

Once up and running, things are good...until I let it go to sleep. What happens now, is it does not recognize the monitor, then:

After about a minute, or more it beeps once.

20-30 seconds later, computer beeps again.

20-30 seconds later it beeps a third time.

Then there is a "click" type sound from something. And the computer finally recognizes the monitor again, but it has re-started instead of just "waking up".

My monitor is connected via my video card (NVIDIA GTX 750ti), while my mouse/keyboard are connected to the motherboard. I have 16GB of RAM, which is working fine - I thought this may be the issue at first, but it must be something else. I thought it may be the DP cable for the monitor too, but then when the mouse/keyboard had issues too, it negated that, and the same issue happened when I used a HDMI cable for the monitor.

Does this seem to be a motherboard / CPU issue? Any possible solutions other than leaving my computer on and never letting it sleep?

For hardware, you can start with a low cost maintenance, replace the coin cell battery with a fresh, new CR2032.  Then, reset CMOS via jumper and making adjustment to BIOS settings to match your hardware setup and usage preference.

For software, temporarily change power option in Control Panel to high performance to test condition of monitor going to sleep while hard drive stays active and monitoring for its supposed normal behavior.  After few hours, change power option back to balance in Control Panel and again, monitoring for its sleep conditions.

If the issue is persisted, that is when you will test motherboard and other components.

@Chino de Oro Thanks for the quick reply Chino. I will replace the battery tomorrow and go through these options as needed. Will report back with the solutions or further issues.

Do not forget to reset CMOS using jumper as it will clear NVRAM of any previous errors and providing accurate system settings.

Users experience is vary.  Still, take precaution while working on the motherboard to avoid any damage.  Useful documentation for references.
