XPS 630 730 MIO cable research summary

630 and 730 both have a MIO board aka daughter board

front panel has left Audio IEEE 1394, right USB 2.0 x2 ports

center power button board

630 is a baby version of 730, there are many design similarity

power button board has cable

630: goes directly to MB

730: goes to MIO, then MIO relays to MB, this is a passive relay.  even when MIO has no power, the relay works, and power button can turn on MB

front panel USB2.0x2 port combine into a single USB 9 pin internal cable which directly goes to MB USB2.0 header 

MIO has a separate cable to MB USB2.0 header #2 for mother-dgt communication

1394 and Audio cable from front panel have direct cables to MB

note 1394 connector looks identical to USB 9 pin but pinout different and not compatible.  if accidentally plugged in USB header and a firewire device connected to FP this can fry the MB

630 MIO powered by 4 pin molex

730 MIO powered by proprietary 10 pin

630 MIO has a dedicated 9 pin USB socket for media card reader whch is separate from FIO
