XPS 200n, need open source OS for booting from CD-Rom
The thing says a lot of operating systems are unbootable. I need an operating system to start from CD-Rom. The connection to the booting CPU is broken so we need to use CD. Do you have an operating system that is open source and will work aswell.

The thing is a Dell Dimension XPS Pro200n from 2000

Look for an older distribution of Linux -- just about nothing current will run on that hardware.
Lubuntu 32-bit 18 or so should work.

Although Microsoft is not open source, the support OS for your system is Windows XP and it should be able to boot from CD.
