successful conversion of XPS 730X H2C cooler to Dell air cooler

prerequisite: acquire a chipset air cooler

unplug H2C power from MCB

remove the entire H2C and motherboard from case (easier to dissemble outside case)

unscrew heat spreader retainer screws on back side of mobo

detach H2C along with heat spreader from mobo

use small flat blade screw driver or a blunt tweezer to gently pry the H2C chipset cold plate from the chipset heatsink

reinstall heat spreader pipes to mobo

install chipset air cooler

reinstall mobo in case

apply front cpu shroud and Dell air cooler to cpu

Dell thermal control app automatically detects H2C is gone and new cpu cooler present
