so why does BIOP show it is a i7 X 980? funny way of displaying 980X.
in case you are not aware, there is also i7 980.
The high end 990X is still costly on eBay. I got this 980X as a bonus. always wanted to get one of these. imo 980X is just as good as 990X. of course you can go seek a cheaper Xeon equivalent but the 980X/990X is the Core i7 founder king pin back in 2009. this is a nostalgia build.

note although the 9000 mobo has X58 chipset, Dell bios does not allow CPU overclock.
