Installing LGA775 Thermaltake copper heatsink V1 on LGA1155 socket

this wing shaped retro  LGA775 cooler has push pins

I used a clamp to remove the pins

the cooler has four exposed mounting slots to allow for install on LGA1155 socket

the mobo has clear mounting holes, no back plate

I used four 6-32 PH machine screws w double nut, top nut serves as washer to press down on the heatsink slots, bottom nut on backside of mobo to fasten the screws.  works well for me.

note the cooler with push pin design originally had mediocre thermal performance due to light mounting pressure.

with the new screw mount I can apply much higher mounting pressure.

the original blue LED fan in this heatsink has 3 pins only not PWM.  it spins at 2000+ rpm a bit noisy.  I d/c this fan from cpu fan header, and uses the chassis exhaust fan only.  works well.
