Fan speed ranps up and down

Problem

Fan speed ramps up for no apparent reason.

Fan speed will run at high speed for approximately 15 sec..

Does this even if I am not using the computer at the time.

All fans and intakes are clean and working.

This happened before the last Bios update but not as often.

I personally think this is the Intel I7-14700K problem.

Cpu cores over heating even throw it has a vary light load on the cpu.

I have never over clocked this unit.

Ran ePAS diagnostic and got no error codes. Result Code 2000-0000 Validation 78657

Have all latest updates from the Dell service site.

what computer do you have??

is the CPU air cooled or liquid cooled??

the i7-14700K et al problem was crashing . . . not overheating

@SuperDave.Home  - Just because you're not using the PC doesn't mean something isn't running in background which causes the CPU to heat up and trigger the fan(s).

For example,  Windows Search and Windows Indexing Services make CPU temps on my Win 10 PC go up ~10ºC when they're running while system is idling.  Some software updaters may be phoning home in background when system is idle. And anti-viral scans may run too.

If you boot in Safe Mode, do you still hear fans rev up when PC is idle?  That might tell you if a background process is causing the fans to rev.
