Wyse 3040 lose their group assignment
Hello,
We have several supergroups, which in turn have subgroups assigned to them. Recently, we have encountered a problem where, when we register a new client, we select a subgroup in the central configurations, but after restarting the client, it loses the group and is assigned to the parent supergroup.
The problem first occurred when I upgraded 3040 clients from ThinOS 8.6 to 9.5 (with an intermediate step to 9.1). I noticed it because a log is created in the supergroup, and I get a screen notification when a log is written in a group. I have already tried changing the group through the configurations on the client and adding the group through WMS management, but this was unsuccessful.
The WMS version is: WMS 4.0 HF1 540
If any more informations are needed, i can provide them
Super and sub groups
how I register a Client
Groups switching after Restart

Check your 9.x policy
Services>WMS Settings
Any time I have seen this behavior, it is because the policy has been altered from the default "Enable WMS" to tick "Enable Advanced configuration," and the WMS Group and prefix are defined. This is only used if trying to move devices between groups programmatically.

I am glad that worked.
That section should not need anything done to it, unless you need it to move devices between groups automatically or to the cloud.
