Confirm Xenith and XenDesktop 4 Configuration
Confirm Xenith and XenDesktop 4 Configuration
Hi all,
I am hoping to confirm that we have implemented our XenDesktop 4/Wyse Xenith POC environment correctly as we need the POC to run smooth to go large scale . I have built the enviroment based on information I have gathered from this forum as well as Citrix forums and other documentation.
DDC - Windows Server 2003 SP2, Adobe Flash Player 10, Policy/Tweaks implemented per CTX124516, applied HDX MediaStream for Flash - Server Template enabling "HDX MediaStream for Flash Connections to the Server"
VM's - Windows XP SP3, Adobe Flash Player 10, Citrix Plug-In 12.1, Citrix VDA 4.0, Tweak per CTX123543, applied HDX MediaStream for Flash - Client Template enabling "HDX MediaStream for Flash on the user device" and "Enable server-side content fetching"
I would say video is pretty smooth, but not as good as what was demo'ed to us. Does this configuration look correct?
Thanks in advance,
-Jason

Optimizing Flash Playback with Wyse Xenith and XenDesktop 4
Found the info:
First off recommended VM specs:
XP 2vCPU, 1G RAM
Win 7 2vCPU , 2G RAM
Next, refer to following Citrix article:
support.citrix.com/.../ctx124516
Note: You can ignore the Progressive Display part since just changing the audio priority helps quite a bit without having to compress image further. Another thing I have seen help especially with high quality flash is to change the max FPS to something like 15 or 18 (instead of the default 24). This can be done in the registry of the VM:
