Wyse Z90SW and Z90S7 wireless roaming failure
At a hospital we have several Z90SW and Z90S7 units attached to carts (CoW's or Computer on Wheels). These unit move around the patient rooms quite a bit in a Cisco AP location with dense deployment plan. All other devices (computers and VoIP) work perfectly except for the Wyse clients. There is no roaming option in the Atheros client driver and the new Z90S7 does not have a roaming option in the Atheros Application Manager either. Currently the units will hold onto an AP until they reach -90 (ish), fail, then wait up to 30 seconds before reattaching to the nearest AP. That makes a thin client for VMWare view pretty useless. I tried the latest driver directly from the Atheros site without success.
I had a previous ticket for the Z90SW that got me an updated Atheros Application Manager setup that included roaming but it does not work on the new units. That and the roaming on the old ones is still iffy at best. Is anyone else using these and if so have you found a solution?
