Thin-Clients with SCCM
Thin-Clients with SCCM
Hi
Day by day one of our new customer get‘s more and more WYSE Thin-Clients (Model No: Dx0D) for conference / meeting room's. All come with Windows 7 Embedded Standard. The employees and extern users use these clients for meetings. The Thin-Clients are configured to login without any password. After the user can click on the Citrix icon and Internet Explorer will start and ask for authentification. After the correct authentification they can use there programs, IE to surf and they have access to the needed shares.
Please note also Thin-Clients are very limited. The network is limited also and only have access to the Citrix farm.
Now my questions:
1) Is there any way to integrate them with SCCM 2008? Is it possible to install Windows 7 Enterprise on these Thin-Clients? I personally think no. Can somebody please confirm it?
2) The customer's employees find this solution very complicated, but I don't think this can be done more easier? Do you have similar Thin-Clients? If yes, how have you configured them?
3) They also have Quest vWorkspace AppPortal 8.0.306.1167. Why do they need this Software if they have Citrix?
4) My forth and last question. Can these Thin-Clients be configured to get WSUS updates?
Many thanks for answering in advance
