Software Installation to C drive
Software Installation to C drive
The company I work for has acquired a Wyse D90D7 device and I'm tasked with setting it up for testing. I need to install software to the device but I keep getting the "not enough disk space" error message. The software is trying to install to the Z flash and not the local C drive. I have spent hours looking for a solution to this problem and have come up empty. Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Johnrambo1989,
Here are some rules of thumb for Thin Clients:
1. The first to know is that a thin client IS NOT acomputer
2. You want to install your programs on the SERVER andonly drivers on the thin client
3. Re-Imaging the thin client erases all your installedprograms and requires re-installation
4. Adding programs to the thin client increases themanagement requirements
5. Most of the Windows Embedded devices only have 4/8 or16GB flash installed with only a few megabytes left to allow for theinstallation of drivers
6. Unlike regular computers, disk space is limited
If you still need to install a program, go to www.wyse.com/kb and select the knowledge basetab. Enter the number 10687 in the search box and press go. Follow theinstruction in the kb article.

Thank you very much for the advice! We have quite a few Wyse devices throughout the facility that don't run Windows Embedded. The supervisor and me we're not sure if these could be run differently then the other Thin Clients. I will pass this along and thank you again for the information.
