C90LEW poor performance
C90LEW poor performance
Hi,
Recently I purchased a C90LEW TC.
First of all, I upgrade it to the latest image found on Wyse website...
My need is playback HD videos, so I purchased it based on the information Wyse provided indicating it is able to playback 1080p.
However, when trying to play videos, even at low quality (downloaded or online) the playback is not fluid... all I can see is a "jumping" video (no need to say that fullscreen is impossible :-(
Am I doing something wrong? Is C90LEW really powerfull to playback 1080p?
Thanks in advance,
Miguel Angel

Hi,
As far as i can see, Wyse support is not "as quick" as desearable...
I post here my findings, trying to help anyone else with my problems...
I found that, if you plan to play HD videos, you need a player that accelerates them using the corresponding hardware (VX855 in C90LEW).
Neither Windows Media player nor Adobe Flash Player 11, in my tests are able to use that hardware acceleration (yes, I checked video hardware acceleration settings).
However, I found Media Player Classic - Home Cinema. Great tiny app (similar to WMP) and doing the job quite well playing all kind of video formats with hardware acceleration...
Also, Boxee and WBMC have players that make use of hardware acceleration with good results.
Still trying to "force" Adobe Player to play videos smoothly... without success right now :-(

Hi again:
More news...
Alas, it seems that VX855 chipset is not in the list of compatible chipsets for flash hardware acceleration :-(
So no youtube, etc... videos playing fine...
Right now, thinking about replacing the TC with another one more powerfull (ummm... from another brand with better support ¿?...)
Bye.
