Wyse 3040 - DP to HDMI monitor - no video

I have a Wyse 3040 that had two DisplayPort ports and I’ve connected a DP to HDMI cable to an HDMI port on a monitor - there is no video. It can’t be that these thin clients wouldn’t work with an HDMI monitor right? I don’t have a DisplayPort monitor.

Try a different adapter cable - I have seen this in the past.   A different adapter made it work immediately though.

No idea why one would work better than another, but it was an easy fix.

Thanks, I’ll have to buy one and see. What I’m using is a cable that has DP on one end and HDMI on the other - that’s known as an adapter cable? There shouldn’t be any reason an actual adapter would be needed, right? For instance, a DP to HDMI adapter with an HDMI cable connected from there to the monitor. An adapter cable should do all of this in one, I’d think, but maybe I’m missing something and the thin client doesn’t know how to handle it.
