Wyse 3040 and WDM 8 to 9
Hello,
I haven't been active with Wyse Thin Clients the last 12 years or so. Those days I usedd FTP and wnos.ini, so WMS is quite new for me. In front of me I have a Wyse 3040 and WMS up and running.
Two questions rise:
- I have upgraded the 3040 from 8.x to 9.1.1131. Now I'm always getting a logon screen "Please enter your credentials" Username, Password and Domain. Why is that? Can I disable it?
- I wanted to update 9.1.1131 to 9.1.2101 but that's giving an error "Failed to upgrade packages". So I have to use packages? What package do I need for RDP connections?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
WMS Gui experience is easy to manage the thin clients instead of INI.
ThinOS Guide: https://dl.dell.com/topicspdf/thinos_9_1_ag_en-us.pdf
WMS Guide: https://dl.dell.com/topicspdf/wyse-wms_administrator-guide14_en-us.pdf
for RDP connection:
Add MVD package - https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=r3kw1&oscode=thn80&productcode=wyse-3040-thin-client
Advanced --> Broker settings --> Global Broker Settings --> set the broker type as NONE
Advanced --> session settings --> RDP & WVD session settings --> under Direct RDP collection --> Click on the right side ADD ROW and fill the details.
Upgrade ThinOS 9.1.2101
download the package - https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=v65f0&oscode=thn80&productcode=wyse-3040-thin-client
Factory reset the device and delete all the packages(system tools --> packages --> select and delete)
Delete the packages from the WMS group and just add the firmware package.
Regards,
Kumar

1) under the policy, Logon Type, change authenticate to broker to authenticate to domain controller.
2) For minor builds (9.1 to 9.1 MR1) there will be 2 files posted. There will be a FULL and a DIFF. The full will be used for updating from 9.0 to 9.1 MR1, the Diff will be for updating from 9.1 to 9.1 MR1.
3) For RDS connections you will need to deploy the Microsoft WVD package. The WVD package will be used for both WVD and RDS.
