Dear Customers,

We’re excited to announce the WMS 5.0 release, which introduces several performance enhancements,

deployment, and remote shadowing for WMS Pro.
                •   Performance & Licensing: Includes telemetry, OS licensing, license migration, client functionality
updates upon license expiry and introduces a new license for ThinOS 10.
                •   Migration Support: Provides tools for ThinOS configuration migration, multiple device upgrades,
and UI/UX guidance for migrating from ThinOS 9 to 10.

                    same feature set
as Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 on Wyse Management Suite 5.0,

3040's with Thinos v8.6_206 can't connect to "eu1.wysemanagementsuite.com" since WMS upgrade.

We have more than 250 Wyse concerned by this problem.

On the release note for the new version, however, it is stated that version 8.6 was supported. In our company, we use more than 1,200 Wyses, 260 of them with version 8.6 .206. The major problem is that these workstations are installed all over France. How can I upgrade without access to Wyse Management Suite? Do I have to embark on a tour of France with a USB key to flash these old versions? I must admit we're rather disappointed...

I am sorry to hear this.  I encourage you to open a support case to see if there is anything engineering can do, but you are likely to get pushback as the previously stated Enf of life has passed.

The lifecycle document clearly outlines expectations, which is why I suggested testing with the last supported release (8.6_810).

Note: The dates below reflect support for the last released OS from the factory or posted to the Dell.com/support site. ThinOS 8.6 reached its End of Service Support
(EoSS) on January 31, 2024. No further support will be available for the ThinOS 8.6 operating system.

If 8.6_810 does in fact work, then you will need to decide if it is worth manually updating the ones in the field, or replacing them, as they are at end of development phase and will get no further updates.

The Lifecycle document is very important to pay attention to, as the different phases of support timelines are generally available from launch of product so they can be planned around.

It seems to have been corrected, this morning all my workstations in version 8.6.206 connected. I'm quickly upgrading to the latest version 8.6 (before the update to version 9 scheduled for April this year). Thanks for your support
