What's going on with the keyboards dying?
I see there's another thread (with no replies) with similar symptoms - "keyboards stop working" - i have recently upgraded around 75 clients to 2408 (all 5070) and starting next day i'm hearing people complaining that the keyboard stops working out of the sudden. In most cases client reboot will fix it, but i had 3 keyboards flat out dead (would not work anymore with any other computer) - is it possibly a BIOS update (all clients were updated to 1.31.0 at the same time) that messed up USB voltage?

Hi, just to update Dell did provide us with a package fix for this issue:
Horizon_2406.8.13.0_127_signed.pkg-V2406.8.13.0.127

We have experienced this same issue on OptiPlex 3000 Thin Clients as well. We did see this problem some before 2408.
We saw this as a fix for 2408 in the notes so that is why we updated hoping it would help.
DTOS-27235 USB peripherals randomly stop responding on OptiPlex 3000
Thin Client.
Updating to 2408 did not help the issue. In our environment it does not appear to be all devices just random keyboard issues. We have seen multiple characters typed on one press of the keys / keyboards just locking up and taking a restart or reseating the USB connection to fix the issue or connecting to another USB port. We have also seen when the issue occurs that the num lock key or caps lock key starts to flicker like low power etc.
I opened a ticket with Dell they said they never heard of this issue etc and I grabbed some logs with noting useful. I also questioned the Bios update as well.

Hello
We also have the problem with the keyboard on Optiplex 3000 with firmware 2411. It gets stuck in VMWare Horizon and when you switch to Wyse interface and back again it works again.
We have had this problem since version 2402 on 3040, 5070 and Optiplex 3000.

@DELL-Scott H Any updates or information from Tech support?
In my experience it does not appear to be all devices but we do have a few users that frequently have the issue. We replaced keyboards and devices with no success. I have created a new group today and downgraded OS/BIOS/Horizon SDK to the 3/1/24 Releases. Not sure this will help since someone above has noticed the issue since 2402 which is the 3/1/24 release. But I have to try something different we are getting a good amount of pushback due to keyboard issues and lost productivity. Thanks

I do not. Please keep working with support.
I will continue to monitor and share what I can if I see anything.

i'm also trying different power supplies, instead of the "standard" 90W i have replaced couple of clients with 130W to see if this makes a difference, since i have started observing variety of issues with clients having 3 monitors attached - issues not happening to setups with 2 monitors.

@cptkl0s Any luck? My setups having the issues are dual monitor setups. Thanks

@Mr. TK
We have the exact same problems, we even tried the most recent releases for our Optiplex 3000 TC;
OS: 9.5.4070
BIOS: 1.22.1
VMware: 2406.8.13.0.33 (SDK)
The tricky part is that it's hardly reproducible or doesn't occur everywhere, but does happen regularly at various workstations.
Anyone found a solution yet?

@ArnoTR no, really annoying that Dell just dropped the ball on this. It's not the power supplies. I'm still testing if BIOS 1.33 fixes it (upgraded a few clients to that version) - from what i have seen so far it hasn't happened yet on the upgraded machines.

Same here. On a couple of users using VMWare Horizon the keyboard is struck randomly; when you switch to Wyse interface and back again it works again. Optiplex 3000, ThinOS latest version.
Any update on this?
Thanks.

We currently have a support ticket open with Dell for this issue, and we are investigating it together. If I receive any updates, I will share them in a comment here.
