ThinOS 9.0.1136 & 3040 – unable to hide taskbar
Hi,
I am probably missing something but I am not able to publish an application in ThinOS 9 so that it would take up the full screen and the taskbar at the bottom of the screen would NOT be visible. This is obviously needed for scenarios like dashboards or presentation screens,
I don’t see any relevant option available in ThinOS 9.x section in Group Config in WMS 2.0.
Has anyone managed to hide the taskbar or this feature is not yet available?

This is an enhancement request that has been raised by a few customers. As this is only the initial release of 9.0 I would imagine it is under consideration for future releases.

Have you tried enabling "Workspace Mode" in the policy for that device under Citrix Broker?

I was advised by Dell Support that in ThinOS 9.0.1136 it is not possible to hide the taskbar.
Has anyone from you guys managed to do this?
What a joke, this is a fundamental feature of thin clients. The lack of this option means we cannot even use the new OS to make a dashboard or presentation screen. Very disappointing especially that this was reported during the beta program for ThinOS 9.

I am unable to comment on the future roadmap for development. I suggest you reach out to your sales team for guidance on when/if it will be addressed in an update.

I've just tested this in ThinOS 9.0.3030 and the issue is addressed, i.e. I can publish a Citrix app in the full screen mode without visible taskbar.

We are unable to hide the left side bar with any version of ThinOS 9 on the 3040s we JUST bought.
Due to this limitation we will have to downgrade these all to 8.6!
Very aggravativing, and just looks poor that we have to downgrade for a missing feature that has been requested for so long. Shame.
Also annoying that it has to be done via USB booting, and not an option via https://us1.wysemanagementsuite.com/

I forgot to mention we are using these 3040 thin clients with our Horizon environment.
