ThinOS 10 Migration
Hi,
We have begun to migrate clients from ThinOS 9 to 10 and had a couple of issues.
DNS Domain Server - Our domain name is something that is XXX.XXX.XXX but when we migrated to 10, it cut the last section off and won't allow us to set it as previous, basically it doesn't allow you to save it when you go past XXX.XXX - has any one else seen this before?
We've also been using the VMware Horizon application fine since we started using ThinOS clients a few years back with no issues. However moving to the SDK version we've had issues that others have seen in previous posts regarding certificate errors where they cannot verify the certificate to the connection broker. Our certs worked fine previously with the CN of the Horizon server and plus in our case a CNAME. Has anyone got any insights into what we might need to amend in the certificate to allow us to connect without lowering the security level to Low.
Cheers!

What ThinOS and Horizon agent build? The certificate issue should have been resolved with
Root_2502.10_0058_signed.pkg
VMware_Horizon_ClientSDK_2406.8.13.0.60_T10.pk
The DNS issue, I am not aware of it. I suggest opening a case on that one.

It's happening on both the 0052 and 0058 build and the latest Horizon build you mention above.
Annoyingly I don't think we have support still on the thin clients we've got and I couldn't see a link to raising a case on ThinOS/WMS? Don't suppose you've got a link have you?

There are a few different causes for the double auth prompt, some are code based, fixed in ThinOS, and some are intune/w365/avd policy based.
The ones that are coded based were fixed in the latest 9.x tree, but the changes haven't been ported to the 10.x tree. the 2505 (may) release will include the code fixes. If you have support you can request early access for the code fix.
If you own WMS Pro (paid version) you can get support by entering the service tag for WMS (from Dell Digital Locker) at the dell.com\support page and you will be given your support options.

Thanks Scott, yes we have got an on prem WMS Pro licence so I'll go through that route. If I get anywhere I will report back!

Update:
Raised a request with Dell and a ConfigurationUI Package has been released with the fix for the DNS Domain Name issue - v1.10.560 released on 21st April 25.
Regarding the certificate issue, this was resolved by using the root CA in the Device Group Configuration rather than using certs that point to the Horizon Server FQDN. Not sure whether from a security perspective if that negates the use of said certs but we shall see.
