Teams Optimization issues with screenshare and audio

Hi,

I have a strange issue with some Wyse 5070s, where during a Teams call, if a user shares their screen then the audio quality suddenly becomes very poor.  HDX Optimization is in use and the audio works fine (using a straightforward Jabra USB headset), until you share your screen.   Immediately the audio cuts in and out every second or two, and/or 'robot-voice' distortion, making it very hard to follow a conversation. Stop the screen share, and the voice quickly comes back to normal.  If you disable HDX Optimization then the effect goes away, but obviously the quality is worse anyway.

We tested today using a PC to connect to the Citrix machine (same Citrix session), that could share it's screen without any audio problems.  So the problem seems limited to the Wyse terminal rather than a Citrix issue.

We have lots of network bandwidth and Performance Monitor on the Wyse is only showing about 15% CPU utilised and almost no RAM used, so this looks more like a software package problem to me.   Everything is up to date with the new BIOS, ThinOS and Workspace that was released on 7th Sept, though I've tried the previous versions and it behaves the same.

Anyone else come across this, and have any suggestions?  I tried a 3040 we have lying around too, same problem on that as well.

Mike

On my Dell U3818DW I get similar issues.

A laptop is connected to the monitor using USB C. Also a webcam is connected to the screen. In regular team calls, things workout just fine. But once I share my screen, I don't hear the audio of the others anymore.

This has been reported by others as well. I suggest opening a support ticket to see if early release code is available.

Early release code is available - this issue is much improved in ThinOS 9.0.3059 for peer-to-peer calls. Anyone who still has issues with this, see if you can get a copy of this version for testing. I'm still testing in multi-person meetings, as I had issues with sharing the screen at all again (other users saw black, rather than the presenation i was trying to show). Could be something problematic still, or could just be coincidence. Just do some good testing before rolling out.

Just tested a 5070 on the new 9.0.4024.  Now all audio cuts out after the ring tone.  Comes right back after hanging up.  Will have to open a ticket.

Hi all,

we have ThinOS 9.1.1 and WyseClient 5070 - Citrix Deployment with Workspace and Teams on VDI Terminalserver.

Same issue: Screensharing and audio will be go to roboting voice -> testing on windows clients (notebooks) with citrix no issue - sure, thats again an BUG from Dell Client ThinOS -> its not fixed, how its said in the release notes... I have opened a call there.

Really bad...

I have same issue here with Dell Wyse 5070 and the latest Thin os 2208. Presenting screen in Teams will cause the audio to be disconnected.

Please confirm how you have made the changes on the Audio Quality on Thin Client
