Manage/Remotely control ThinOS clients without applying policy

I installed and configured the Dell Wyse Management Suite on a local server earlier this year. I configured the proper default policy and sub-policies for various departments. We've started deploying Wyse 3040 thin clients, and they do not apply policies consistently. All are running ThinOS 8.6_013. Two identical machines at the same location, in the same policy, do NOT consistently receive the same settings. Particularly those around dual monitors, and occasionally they will be missing an RDP shortcut entirely upon reboot. The system of purchasing and drop shipping a thin client at a branch, and then having it pull DHCP and automatically set itself up was VERY nice at first. However, once a policy fails to apply properly, the device is worthless. Re-flashing the OS on the device and reapplying policy has no effect. I'm tired of chasing ghosts, and am entirely willing to just configure the thin clients manually. Troubleshooting the automated aspects of the console has taken far more time than it would have taken to just configure each device manually.

All I'm looking for at this point is to have the thin clients pull DHCP and check into the management suite. I want VNC access, and that's it. I 100% do not want policy application of any kind. I want to just log into a console, see thin clients, and then I'll configure them myself.

Is there a way to do this? Placing clients in the "Unmanaged Group" stops policy application, but also removes the ability to remotely access the devices. Regardless of configuration, placing clients in the "Default Policy Group" or any subcategory of it results in it applying this policy. Even if the policy is wiped and replaced with the factory default, it applies policy by design. I need a way to just dump clients in a list and get VNC access.

I am having same issue and want the same thing as do, just VNC shadowing. I had the VNC working with WDM 5.7.2. However, Admin just updated us to WMS. Playing with the Configs, it will PUSH to the clients and then will wipe my CONNECTION MANAGER back to Default with no accounts. Sometimes simplicity is better. Did you find a solution? Duggan
