Please reach back out to support.  Looks like they did not "Serialize" the new board properly as part of the RMA.

Hi,  I see this error quite frequently when support replaces system boards on our Optiplex3000 Thin clients.  Please try the following if you have not already tried this has worked for me in most cases.

1.  Look up service tag in your WMS console

2.  If service tag is found unregister it.

3.  Go back to the devices tab and change status to Not registered search for service tag again and if you find the device here delete it.

4.  Boot device back up and reregister to your ABLS group or force check in.

This usually gets me past this message.

I've had a few I've had to do this and factory reset to get going again.

Hi all,

as I ran into this issue myself a couple of times after a technician replaced the system board of a faulty device, I'd like to share my experience here, too.

Here's an intranet post I wrote for our field service (parts already mentioned by @Mr. TK):

If a ThinClient is repaired by a Dell technician by replacing the system board, two things must be done to ensure a successfull registration in the Wyse Management Suite (WMS):

1. The previous entry for this device in the WMS must be deleted (as the device name has changed but the service tag has remained the same, therefore preventing a successful registration/check-in). To do this, log in to the WMS, switch to the Devices tab, search for the service tag, select the device and click on Unregister. The page then refreshes and you have to set the filter Status → Registration → Not registered to display the now unregistered client. Select it again, click on Further actions and select Delete device.

2. Furthermore, after replacing the system board, the message “Login denied. ThinOS Activation License not available.” (or similar) may appear. To resolve this, a bootable USB stick must be created with the Dell OS Recovery Tool (recovery image required for device). Before installation, USB boot support must be activated in the BIOS and the value in System Management → WYSE OS SKU (appears only if USB stick is inserted, otherwise the value will not appear or will be grayed out) must be changed to ThinOS PCoIP. Then boot from the stick using the F12 key. The installation process will begin automatically, and the error message should finally disappear after successful installation.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Sandro
