Imprivata Bluegiga BLED112 UBS Bluetooth Dongle on ThinOS 8.6
Does anyone have the dongle working on either a 3040 or 5040 thin client?
We've implemented Imprivata's Electronic Prescription of Controlled Substances (EPCS) on laptops and desktops within our healthcare organization. EPCS is now a DEA requirement.
The dongle allows for hands-off two-factor authentication between the EMR application and the doctor's cell phone.
We're now looking to improve the workflow and get EPCS working on the thin clients.
Our ThinOS version is 8.6.024 on both the 3040 and 5040.
BIOS version on the 5040 is 3.0U.
BIOS version on the 3040 is 1.2.4.
The thin client recognizes the dongle because the event log shows the connecting and disconnection of the device. I also see the device listed in System Tools --> Devices.
What's not working is the communication to or from the dongle somewhere along the lines.
The EMR is accessed in the same fashion on workstations/laptops and thin clients, which is Citrix XenApp 7.15LTSR. Workstations and laptops work completely fine. Thin clients do not work.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I know that ThinOS does support Eprescribe with Imprivata with fingerprint readers with EPIC. I have seen it in action. Is this different from that use case?
I would recommend opening a Dell Support case on the 3040 using the service tag, and also review it with Imprivata. Imprivata is very good at knowing what does and does not work on ThinOS.
Keep us updated.

Same concept, but using different hardware. We opted to go with the Bluetooth readers over the fingerprint readers. The doctors load the Imprivata app on their mobile phone and the 2nd piece of 2-factor happens automatically providing they're carrying their phone and have Bluetooth turned on.
I did open a support case with Dell regarding the compatibility. I'll be reaching out to Imprivata as well.
I'll definitely update the thread once I hear from support.

Dell's engineering team confirmed the dongle has not been validated on ThinOS and advised I create a feature request through our sales team.
We played with all the USB settings we could find in WMS 1.4, but had no luck on our own either.

Thank you for the clarification. PM me if you have difficulty reaching out to your sales team.
