Connection Brokers
Good Morning (Or Afternoon Depending on where you are located)
I have a quick question for all the people on this forum that far more intelligent then I. Can you either through the Wyse Management Console or INI file configure the Dell Thin Client OS to attempt to connect to different Brokers. For EX:
Broker One: Test 1
Broker Two: Test 2
This would be for continuity of the system so that if broker one went down the system would default to broker 2. Also the thin clients are used for a class room environment that travels so we will not always have a direct connection to the Wyse Management Console.
Regards.

Good morning,
You dont mention which broker you are working with.
Normally broker failover is handled at the network (load balancer) or broker layer, but if your intent is to handle using the thin client you do have some options.
Under ThinOS 8.6, you can leverage INI files for a feature called "selectserverlist" to provide the user a choice at login for which to use. https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/thinos_8_6_ig_en-us.pdf Page 32
Under ThinOS 9.0, and using WMS 2.1 you can leverage "ThinOS Select Group" to set this up

Thank you for the response, we are trying to limit the user interaction so having them select a Broker is not optimal this is due to there lack of the users knowledge and location. We were hoping for a kind of auto discover from the Thin client perspective. For example if the thin client did not see the first broker on the list it would automatically move onto the next and so on until is established a connection with a broker. The company I work for has several training sites and we are trying to stream line the process for a kind of plug and play solution.
