With last 8.6 update of ThinOS we obtain this warning. We use an internal certificate anb we deploy CA certificate with WMS.
It's possible to hide this warning?

Looking through the release notes the following should suppress that
signon=yes enablemessage=no
SignOn={yes, no, NTLM}
EnableMessage addresses the vulnerability issue- PSRC-12979.
[EnableMessage={yes, no}]
It is used to display the security warning message on the signon window based on the FileServer path.
Default is yes. A warning message is displayed on top of the signon window when FTP/HTTP is configured on the FileServer path otherwise no message is displayed.

I've added a public cert and the appropriate intermediate to WMS but I still get the error message on my test client after updating ThinOS to 8.6_511.
Adding the line "SignOn=no EnableMessage=no" to the INI successfully supresses the warning, but I would rather do it right than supress it.
Can anyone explain to me why the message appears? Thank you!

It was a change made in response to a security concern. I would advise contacting Dell support, or your Dell account team for a full explanation of why the change was made.

Thank you for following up buffalobound!
I'm totally fine with the change, I just would like to figure out what is wrong with my environment that my clients obtain the configuration using an unsecure connection.

Hi rmcps
I get the same error message since the update.
Could you find out what was wrong with your environment?
Many thanks in advance.

I maybe found something on this message. I read that this message appear when FTP/HTTP file server Path is configured. So i went to admin menu>central configuration>general, and i fugure it out that ftp/http path is not totally blank but beginning of ftp path is specified "ftp://" . I delete all, restart device, no more message.
If this is the reason, woooaww. Great change DELL.

Hi,
I know it is an old post, but here is what I did change to make it work.
