Thin client with local dot matrix printers

Masters,

We need your help to clarity.

Currently we using PC+Servers infrastruture and there are under construction our new "thin client based infrastructure".

The new infrastructure based on virtualized servers runnin' windows server 2012 as terminal servers.

An other company we currently use Wyse 3050-T50 (ubuntu) and 3012-T10D (ThinOS) devices. So we "know" this devices and we would like to use this thin clients on the first company i mentioned.

But....

Currently on the first company we are using Epson 2190 and Epson 890 dot matrix printers connected to PC via USB.

So.....

I would like to know:

- is it possible to use Epson's with 3050-T50 (print from terminal servers to this epson printers.)
- is it possible without using print servers (we have 2-300 pieces of this dot matrix printers, so if not neccessary we don't want to buy 2-300 print server)
- what is the best parctice to achieve this?
- should we need to pick thin client with embdeed windows?

Thank you for any suggestion

Botask,

the biggest issue with these printers is the Windows driver. If you install the driver on the server, you can redirect the printer. Go to www.wyse.com/kb and search for "WTOS print" and one of the results is KB 22971. This should help you setup your printer to see if it works.
