Barcode Reader on 3000 Series Thin Client

I am having issues with a bar code reader on one of our thin clients.  The bar code reader will stop working after awhile and to get it to work again I need to plug it into a different USB port and restart the thin client.  Within the System Information window I am seeing the following error:

USB:  device probe on port 3 failed

The bar code reader will then work for awhile before the same process above will need to be repeated again.

I have tried resetting the thin client and re-configuring the settings with the same result and have also tried all of the different USB ports on the unit.  Does anyone have any ideas as to why the bar code reader seems to keep losing its connection?
