Slow RDP Performance - anyone else not able to watch video?

Slow RDP Performance - anyone else not able to watch video?

Hi there,

I used to use Splashtop which was rock solid, super fast and worked perfectly for me - until they introduced their dodgy terms and conditions with an update.

With splashtop i connected via VNC.

I connected my ipad3 to either my Windows Home Server 2011 or my WIndows 8 RP gaming rig.

Both were lightening fast and i could watch videos/youtube etc no problem.

I chose Pocketcloud over Jump desktop and was pleased to see that i could set up an RDP connection (should be faster than VNC).

TO my dismay, speed now seems much worse with Pocketcloud! If i try to watch an AVI file on my pc whilst connected via my ipad using Pocketcloud, the video is unwatchable! it's horrendously jerky - you can see the refresh.

It's not only video eithyer - basic scrolling on web pages and navigation is much poorer / jerkier.

I have eased off on some of the performance settings but sorry, I expect to be able to keep High Quality Fonts etc

My question to all of you is are you getting smoother, faster performance than me? can anyone compare their Pocketcloud RDP experience to Splashtop? From where im sitting, Splashtop was much much faster.

All help very much appreciated, thankyou

My apologies for the inconvenience. We are always looking to improve the performance of the application and video streaming is one of the things we can definitely improve on. Please keep the feedback coming, I will be sure to pass it along to our product team.
