Remote to Unix

Hello everyone,
I am trying to evaulate if this app would be what our group needs from a mobile connectivity product and I have a question.
When I remote to my pc from either iPad or iPhone, the app does behave very well, yet when I launch a ReflectionX Unix session connectivity from the mobile remotely connected to my office pc, something strange occurs. I can log in fine into unix, but in the session that gets opened all of the keystrokes other than simple alpha characters do not display properly and the executable commands do not get recognized, let's say I type ls -ltr what actually shows in the session is ls~2tr.
Something to do with character mapping I suppose.

Any idea what I can do to overcome this obstacle?
I would really appreciate any help you can provide.
