PocketCloud Pro/Windows 7 key event issues

PocketCloud Pro/Windows 7 key event issues

I just purchased this product for an iPad with the primary intention of remotely entering data into GnuCash on a Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) system. The connection is being tested on a local WiFi segment with no firewalls (including the Windows Firewall) between the endpoints. An RDP session is established and works properly using Windows Notepad as a test case. However when using the intended application, GnuCash, I find that characters other than alphanumerics are unrecognized. This is a particular problem because the decimal point is not working. The problem seems to stem from the key encoding being sent by your application as other free iPad RDP clients I tested performed this entry without issue.

I have also tried using the UK key mapping in your application as well as reviewing the keyboard input with EventGhost's keyboard plugin. The EventGhost traffic clearly shows that nonstandard key event variants are being delivered to the application layer. Installing the WYSE Windows helper application also had no impact on the issue.

The iPad is running iOS 4.2.1 and GnuCash is version 2.4.0.

The problem can be easily reproduced by replicating the scenario described and trying to enter any special character into a text or numerical entry field.

The free version of your product limited the display resolution such that I could not adequately explore data entry into GnuCash prior to purchase. The other features I saw over the freely available alternatives convinced me to invest in the product, but the features are mute if it can't deliver on the primary use case. Please identify what steps can be taken to resolve this issue.

Thanks for the report. I was able to reproduce and will let our developers know about it.

I saw in another thread that you're anticipating a new release near the end of Q1. Does this mean that this issue we be unresolved until at least the end of March 2011?

Yes that's correct. Thank you for your patience!

What remediation options does your company offer when a product cannot perform the basic function for which it was marketed? In this case the first line of your App Store description reads, "...complete access to your work and home desktop..."

I believe your investigation has shown that the product could not deliver "complete access" to my desktop.
