New PocketCloud 2.0.4 keyboard issue
New PocketCloud 2.0.4 keyboard issue
Wyse PocketCloud 2.0.4
VMware View 4.5
After upgrade to 2.0.4, I'm noticing a keyboard issue.
In some instances when the keyboard is opened, I lose the black function key bar across the top of the keyboard. The result is:
I can't access ESC, CTRL, ALT keys
I can't escape the view which has many of the predefined shortcut keys (CTRL + C, ALT + TAB, etc.)
If I enter the Text pad mode, then I'm really screwed as the button to leave that mode is missing.
Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about:

Here's another:

This really stinks.

Jason,
Could you confirm whether this is happening consistently or not? If it's consistent, what steps should we follow to reproduce this issue? Does this happen only on landscape mode?
Thanks in advance for your help to get to the bottom of this problem.

Yes, I've been able to reproduce it. It happens all the time in landscape mode since the PocketCloud upgrade over the weekend. I just tried in portrait mode and it happens there as well. Here are the steps to follow:
-Unlock iPad
-Launch Wyse PocketCloud 2.0.4
-Connect to pre-defined View 4.5 session
-Type in password to connect
-(At this point, I'm sitting at a Windows XP desktop)
-Two finger tap to get a mouse cursor
-Tap down arrow in lower right to remove black bar
-Tap keyboard icon on round mouse cursor
-With this try, immediately I have a keyboard at the bottom of the screen but no black bar above the keyboard with the ESC CTRL ALT keys. Screenshot: http://yfrog.com/2q5yvvj
-Tap the keyboard down button in the lower right to close the keyboard.
-Now the lower half of the screen where the keyboard used to be is blac, and the black bar at the top is revealed including the ESC CTRL ALT keys (I created a screenshot of this http://yfrog.com/mqcrfmj )
-Tap the large key + small key button on the black bar
-Now I see the predefined function keys (CTRL C, CTRL X, ALT TAB, etc.). The black bar is missing on top. I have no way to get out of this screen. I can't access the keyboard button. I can't escape my way out of this screen. I can't access the mouse cursor. Screenshot:http://yfrog.com/9fqr8bj
-At this point, if I tap the Text pad mode, then a white sheet consumes the top half of the screen and the black bar buttons are still gone. I have no way to escape but quit the PocketCloud application. Screenshot: http://yfrog.com/20169vj

BTW, a work around in the mean time is to rotate the iPad (no need to disconnect the session).

I'm able to reproduce the issue above by opening and closing the keyboard just a few times. The key is that once the keyboard opens and there is no black button bar at the top of it, that's when trouble starts because without that black bar showing, you don't have the blue "done" button on the right to close everything on the lower half of the screen.
When the keyboard is opened and flies up, a black bar with a few buttons is supposed to fly up above and stay docked to the top of the keyboard. Problem is sometimes the black bar docks behind the keyboard overlay area instead of on top of it. You can see it happen if you open and close the keyboard a few times fast and it eventually happens.

Thanks for the workaround! I kept thinking I was missing a gesture or shortcut...

The same is happening to me
Hello.
It's happening to me the same, but also, when you touch the Fn in the black arrow, there is no way to hide that keyboard, cause it's bigger than the area for the black arrow, and you can't touch the done button.
You have to disconnect and reconnect to evit this keyboard
Hope you fix it very soon. It not easy work with this problem
Thanks
