Loving the new improvements... Lock Screen on iPhone like iPad?
Loving the new improvements... Lock Screen on iPhone like iPad?
I've been using Pocket Cloud nearly since the day it was in the App Store, and it finally is getting to work really well on my iPhone.
I feel the iPhone 4 has enough resolution to reasonably just use native resolution and lock the screen, like on the iPad. I like how the new update allows me to force any resolution. I don't like how the screen moves around, zooms in and out, etc...
It would be nice if double tap to zoom worked, and then you pinch out and it 'springs' back to the locked 960x640. However, all I really would like is just a little toggle that locks the screen in place. It would be cool if there was a 'stealth mode' or something where even the little arrow on the bottom right goes away. I don't generally use it... Maybe make a gesture for it to show up? Id be fine with just a toggle to show NOTHING but the client, and lock the screen in place at native resolution.

Thanks for the feedback, we love the iPhone 4 too
. BTW, The second to last item on the toolbar is supposed to zoom back to fullscreen, is that helpful at all?
About the double tap: How would we differentiate from double click?
A work around for the "little arrow": You can actually move it around and drag it outside of the screen if you want (you should still be able to click on it because a couple or pixels remain on the screen).

Those buttons aren't that useful to me, since they take up lots of screen space. And I would need to hit it every time I wanted to zoom out.
I suppose the double tap to zoom wont work. But pinch to zoom should still be just fine. However, when zooming back out, it shouldn't zoom out past 1:1.
Dragging the arrow out of the way can be helpful, but if the device rotates, or is opened again, its right back in place.
This is just a minor issue. Id really like a way to lock the screen into native res. It could even be locked into landscape then I wouldn't need to turn rotation lock off to use it, and it would never rotate around in a car.

Reading this I thought, "Oh no, don't listen to him, I love everything about how it works now!" So just putting in my two cents that I like how it works now. I use that little button to zoom in and out of full screen constantly.
That said, it would be nice to get rid of that arrow sometimes. I'll have to try dragging it off of the screen as you mentioned.
His ideas are cool, but it sounds like a lot of features to complicate things. Maybe what he really wants is another check box on the connection setting screen to "lock display". Again, though, feature creep sure can cause a program to get large and buggy.

I need a "screen lock" feature as well, for use at work :-) something to prevent screen dragging

You can suggest new features for future releases here: http://pocketcloudsupport.wyse.com/f...ature-requests

All I would really like is a way to lock the screen from moving around. The button part isn't critical, I just would prefer a way to just avoid it.
