Invalid Credentials - sorry but cannot find solution

Invalid Credentials - sorry but cannot find solution

Hi,

I have read everything I can find on the Invalid Credentials issue, but cannot seem to find the answer to my problem.

I am using Windows XP Home SP3 - so no RDP, nor VNC (that I know of), iPad 2 w/6.1.3, PocketCloud ver 2.2.143, and PocketCloud Windows Companion 2.5.13.

I get past Google fine and my iPad sees my PC through auto discovery. When I try to login, I get the Invalid Credentials message. I know my Windows login ID and password and have entered them correctly multiple times.

I have checked the exceptions box for Remote Desktop in Windows Firewall. Wyse Browser and Remote Access are both checked also. I have Wyse PocketCloud and Remote Access running under Services.

Do I need to DL a VNC app or something?

Thanks!

Have you tried leaving the password field blank?

Uh, no... I don't see where you suggested any fixes to try. Sorry if I am missing it.

To answer your other question, there are no special characters in my Windows login id/password.

I have read the document to which you referred me several times and do not see any recommended fixes for XP Home users.

Thanks!

Yes, remote server = your PC

Did that get you signed in?

It does not specifically say XP Home, but the information about VNC connections do apply to XP Home users.

If you do not have any VNC applications installed (IE: TightVNC, WinVNC, etc), you will use the instructions for PocketCloud Remote Access VNC Credentials:

3 - PocketCloud Remote Access VNC Credentials

These credentials are the same username and password. that you normally use to login to your computer. These credentials can be entered and saved in the "Connection Settings" for the host computer listed under the "My Computers" list. This eliminates the need to enter the credentials every time you connect to that computer from your mobile device. The illustrations below show the Auto-discover setting screen for a Windows computer connection (left) and the Manual connection settings screen for a Mac computer connection (right).

VNC Credentials (VNC Connections) apply to Windows Home Edition computers using the PocketCloud Windows Companion version 2.5.13 or above.

Please note that while VNC is a standard protocol supported by Linux environments, PocketCloud is not tested or supported on any Linux environment.

Credentials, in the case of PocketCloud Remote Access VNC are:

-Username refers to the name of the user authorized to gain access to your computer. Example: JDoe
-Password is used to verify that the Username entered has the key to gain access to your computer. In most cases is a required field. In the case of Windows Computers, this is the same password that you normally use to gain access to your computer. If you do not use a password, leave it blank. Example: Pa$$w0rd

You also might want to try using the Username administrator and then your normal password to log in.

Why doesn't my reply show up? I have replied three times...?

OK...it's there now.

They are both English.

Also to confirm, by remote server you mean my PC, right?

Thanks for your help, btw.

I am not sure if you have already seen this, but please take a look at the following knowledge-base article related to credentials and where to use what within PocketCloud:
http://wysetechnologyinc.zendesk.com...d-Credentials-

Also, does your Windows password have any special characters in it?

What language is your device and remote server set to? If they are set to different languages, this could be causing the problem too.
