Instructions on all parts needed for VNC Shadowing
Instructions on all parts needed for VNC Shadowing
Good Day,
I am new to the VNC world, but have plenty of expirience in the IT world...just have never found a reason to implement VNC. So to get to it...
I need a step by step on what is required in order to facilitate the VNC shadowing on the computers in the network I run. I am currently attempting to test on my console and I cant get any ground on this issue. From what I have seen there is no setup page for this portion of the program and no one has said anything about it yet.
I need:
Any other software needed other than WYSE on my iPad and Windows Companion on my PC...
A reason why the diagnostics claims that my firewall, rdp, and vnc settings are correct, but when I go into additional settings and ask it to test the vnc port it fails...stating that the vnc is not listening on this port...etc.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks !

Thanks

You only need to install a VNC Server if you are running a Home edition of Windows. We've tested various free VNC servers, one that works out of the box is Real VNC.
Instructions for Windows Home Editions:
1) Download and install Real VNC Server (http://www.realvnc.com/products/free/4.1/download.html)
2) Download and install the PocketCloud Windows Companion
3) Run the 'Diagnostic' from the PocketCloud Windows Companion to ensure everything installed correctly
4) Optional: Use the "Auto Discovery" feature if you want to connect from other networks. You'll need a Gmail account for this.
Hope this helps

And what needs to be done to setup access using an iPad. I get the error alert: authentication failed: Incompatible Version.Version. .... I have installed the Mac Companion Beta, but what do I need to do to "enable VNC Viewers and set a password in the Remote Management Settings. Thanks.

Go to Apple > System Preferences > Sharing.
1) Make sure "Remote Management" is checked.
2) Click on "Computer Settings" and make sure "VNC viewers may control screen" is checked.
3) Type in a password in the text box.

You will need to set up a VNC connection. To do this, download a VNC client (we recommend TightVNC and you can download it here: http://tightvnc.com/download.php).
From here, download and install the companion software here:
https://appservices.wyse.com/pages/s...20Downloads%29
After that, you should be able to connect via VNC (remote shadowing).
Please let me know if you have any further questions.

How do I use the VNC "Remote Shadowing" to connect to computers from iPhone? Step by step. Computers would be Windows Pro or server computers as opposed to 'home' as mentioned in previous posts.
Thanx,
