Companion not working

Companion not working

I am trailling pocketcloud with VNC on a windows XP Pro desktop - all works nicely.

I then downloaded the latest companion, and installed it OK. I skipped the section with the gmail account only, as I don't wish to use this.
It loaded and appeared in the taskbar. I then rebooted the PC and the companion also appeared in the taskbar.
I then connected from pocketcloud (trial version ) on the ipad. It connects OK BUT reacts very slowly to sceren taps - it takes 10 seconds to acknowledge a tap. Also when clicking the companion icon on the ipad it says PocketCloud companion is not installed.
I then uninstalled companion, rebooted the PC, and the performance went back to normal (ie OK)

Any ideas?
