Cannot connect to my PC from iPad. Error says "cannot connect to server".

Cannot connect to my PC from iPad. Error says "cannot connect to server".

I cannot connect to my home computer unless I am connected to wifi on my home network. My iPad has the latest iOS. My PC is running Windows 7 Ultimate and has the latest Wyse PocketCloud Companion loaded and running. I verified that "Remote Desktop" is enabled on the PC. I even went as far as to create a gmail account to see if that would help. The credentials have been entered into companion and the account is now synching with my iPad. When I run the diagnostics program on my PC, everything checks out fine. I have tried entering in the local IP address of the PC and the public IP with no success. I also have ensured that port-forwarding is set up on my 2wire gateway. As far as that is concerned, I even went as far as to set the PC in DMZplus Mode to allow all applications through the gateway firewall. Any suggestions????

Please login to gmail from your ipad settings page, do you see autoconnections listed there? Are you connecting manually or using autoconnections?
