Auto Keyboard display does not work when dismissed via the iPad hide key

I am using V2.1.235 on an iPad2 connecting to Windows 7 clients and Windows 2003 servers.

Under Application Options-->settings-->Keyboard Auto-acitivate is ON

If I call the virtual keyboard using the wyse keyboard button, I can dismiss and recall the keyboard using the 3 finger gesture.

However, if I dismiss the keyboard using the iPad native hide key (bottome right hand side), I cannot use the gesture option again until I call the keyboard back up using the Wyse keyboard button.

In addtion, when connecting to devices with the Windows conpanion installed, selecting a field that woud require a text entry does not call the virtual keyboard either.

Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?
