windows xp installation issue
windows xp installation issue
when running the setup wizard, automatic configuration screen HANGS at Detecting System Settings.....IE. no settings list appears. If I hit the skip option the program just exits.
The following info was sent to Wyse yesterday (information is answered at the end of the post):
Sorry for the inconvenience. In order to proceed to help you resolve the issue you are experiencing, and help us troubleshoot the problem, please answer as accurately as you can the following questions:
1- What is the version NUMBER of PocketCloud you are using on your mobile device
(see link below if you don't know how to find this information)? (REQUIRED)
2- What is the model of the mobile device you are using(e.g. Evo, iPhone, iPhone4, iPad, Xoom)?
3- What version of Windows are you using on your Remote computer (e.g. Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit)?
4- What version number of PocketCloud Windows Companion are you trying to install?
Also, can you please send me the PocketCloud Installation log.
1. Version 1.2.182
2. HTC Velocity 4G
3. Windows XP Professional 2002, SP3
4. Version 2.4.8
5. Re: installation log, there is NO log file in the TEMP directory however there is a Subdirectory “WisePocketCloud” which is empty.

Thanks Josh, disabled anti-virus & added Pocketcloud to my firewall safe exceptions but no difference in the result....any other suggestions please

Can you see the system tray icon (kite) for the companion?
Do you have a anti-virus installed? Can you try temporarily disabling it and try to install the companion again? You may also want to add the companion to the safe/approved application list with your anti-virus and firewall.

Can you try uninstalling the Companion you currently have installed (2.4.8), then download and try to install the latest version (2.4.12) and see if you are still having the same trouble?
