Samsung Galaxy S i9000 keyboard issue
Samsung Galaxy S i9000 keyboard issue
I have installed "Wyse PocketCloud Free" on my i9000.
I can not log into my computer because the keyboard does not work.
When I point to the text box, such as the login id, a soft keyboard pops up. I would like to enter some letters, either upper or lower case letters, the application will only send the number to my computer.
Here is the exmplaes.
When I input 'A', my computer will receive a '2'.
When I input 'B', my computer will receive a '2'.
When I input 'D', my computer will receive a '3'.
The problem just like the application change my soft keyboard to the numeric keypad.
How can I solve this problem?

James,
Sorry for the slow response. Unfortunately we don't have a Galaxy S i9000 for testing yet. Answers to these questions might help us issolate the issue:
1) Have you installed a third party keyboard (e.g. Swiftkey?)
2) Does this happen only inside the remote session? Do you have the same issue in the local interface before you connect? (e.g. when you type the server name)
3) Are you using RDP or VNC to connect?
4) This is with both: Lower case and upper case? What about letters like 'Z' or simbols like '!'?

i have a galaxy S running with a PC running XP Pro. I am looking to get a product so that i can access videos (including sound) from my home PC.
My first question is (because i know that some of the other products available dont do sound) is, is sound and vision for videos available on the paid for product? If not the rest of this is academic.
I dont really understand why its so complicated to set these things up - i have spent most of the day trying to do so because the instructions are opaque... Anyway i didnt give up and eventually I hva ebeen able using a gmail account, to be able to contact my Pc - which eventually showed me my computer's name.
HOWEVER before getting to my PC i have to complete a screen splash for user name and password - which is very odd since i have never used one before (i go straight in at home).
OK [sometimes it connects and sometimes it doesnt and i had to change the port from 5900 to 3389 on the pc companion before it connected at all] so when i try to log in using user name and password i have to put in something even though i have used the windows command user passwords 2 and unticked users must enter a password. So the password i set up before for administrator - its a three letter password so i cant have typed it incorrectly - and yes my keyboard does work fine. So i type in the user name - i have tried both "Administrator" and the Pcs name which is what is shown in the list of PCs.
So my question is what am i supposed to type in the Windows XP splash screen given my other settings?
Anyway all that happens is that whatever i enter i am told that i have entered

please ignore the last sentence "Ayway.... entered". After changing stuff using the windows command user passwords 2, i now get a splash screen on my pc, which i can just cancel or escape from the splash screen - and the machine opens fine [presumably because users dont need a password].
However if i cancel or esc [using the function keyboard] in the android pocket cloud it takes me out "Session Disconnect... Exit / Reconnect".

Craig,
Let me see if I get this right:
1) You are able to connect to your computer using PocketCloud but get a Logon Screen
2) Based on your latest post, you are now able to login?
In order to login remotely to your computer users are required to set a Username/Password (otherewise anyone could log in and this would be a security risk). If you are still having issues login in try setting up a password for your user account:
1) Hit "ctrl+alt+del"
2) Select: "change a password"

RDP
Yes, both case.
Z: 0 (Number 0)
!: !
The following table is the result that I tried in a RDP session:
ABC = 222
DEF = 333
GHI = 444
JKL = 555
MNO = 666
PQRS = 7077
TUV = 888
WXY = 999
Z = 0
And all the special characters, such as @#$%^&*() was input correctly.

The development team is looking into this. They have fixed some KB issues that will go out on the next maintanance release but we don't know whether this will be fixed on your device since we don't have a Galaxy S i9000.
What is really strange is that the output is as if you were using the Phone KeyPad instead of the Keyboard (e.g. 2 Corresponds to 'ABC' on a keypad). Do you think there might be a local setting that can be adjusted?
