Pipe (|) character on droid 2 keyboard

Pipe (|) character on droid 2 keyboard

I searched through most of the threads, but did not find what I was looking for...

I am able to connect to a windows host server (but cannot install your windows keyboard client, since it is a business server). From this host server I can ssh to a linux server just fine. What I have not been able to find is the pipe character "|"... trying the ALT does not display anything, and am guessing that is because I don't have the client installed... trying the keyboard I have the same results... i.e. no keyboard displayed.

The only thing I do have is the physical keyboard that is on the droid 2.

Is there a way to map a key to this character?

thank you,
Steve

Just checking to see if this was/will be added anytime in the near future.
Thank you,
Steve

Hi Steve,
Our Windows application has nothing to do with being able to type the character "|". We leverage the built in Android keyboard and rely on the keys available there. This is the first time someone brings up that the '|' seems to be missing from the Android keyboard, I just confirmed on an EVO as well. We'll probably have to add this key to our custom keys, in an upcoming release. In the mean time, I'll ask around to see if anyone has another idea.

Try ALT + SYM or ALT + SpaceBar. It worked for me on Droid 2 Global but not with a simple terminal.
