Issue having windows client accept a remote access request through pocketcloud

I get a runtime error stating "This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Contact the application's support team for more information" I recently installed the current pocket cloud companion on a Windows XP pro box. It installed without a hitch and is confirmed to be logged into gmail. I have also made provisions within the firewall for the application to function. When I try to initiate a connection from the Android phone, the host computer throws the runtime error and the phone is unable to connect to server. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
