How to setup VNC for Mac
How to setup VNC for Mac
I currently have Froyo on an Evo 4g. I created a VNC Computer for the Mac on the Pocketcloud app. I put my external ip on the Host address. I also opened port 5900 on my router and set the operating system to Mac on the phone. I have OS X 10.6.5. I also have PocketCloud application running in the Mac. I have also gone into the Sharing settings to allow remote management. I still cannot connect so what am I missing or need to do on the phone or mac side to fix this problem?

Is the EVO connected to your WiFi network or are you using it over 4G? What error message do you get when you try to connect?
We recommend installing the PocketCloud Companion for the easiest setup process.

Besides having "Remote Management" checked you also need to click on "Computer Settings" and check the box next to "VNC viewers may control...". You can also go here http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and type in your public IP address and the VNC port to see if it's reachable from the outside. If it's not then that means your port forwarding is not properly setup.
If you have already done that and are still having problems then my only other suggestion is to install our PocketCloud Companion.

My Evo is connected to my WiFi and it doesn't work. I even turned off WiFi and tried 3g and then 4g. I get the same message, "Could not connect to server."
I paid for the Pro version so I expect this to work with my Mac through VNC as you have advertised. Now please help me.

Under password, I put the password used to install things and log into my Mac.
