High CPU load Pocketcloud on Galaxy Nexus
High CPU load Pocketcloud on Galaxy Nexus
All,
A while ago I have purchased PocketCloud through the Android market. Great program that i have used mainly to connect to my home system.
I'm using the client on my phone (Galaxy Nexus - Android 4.0.2) and tablet (Asus TF101 - Android 4.0.3). When using pocketcloud on my phone, i have noticed my phone starts to develop significant cpu load. As a result the back cover of the phone is getting very hot, and the battery drains quickly.
The session on the phone starts with low load, but quickly increases.. This even occurs when having no activity on the desktop, and therefore no screen updates. Below picture represents the load with a standard desktop with no activity.
On the tablet everything runs smoothly, cpu load in the same situation;
This issue frustrates me as battery as I almost can see the battery capacity go down while using pocketcloud on the phone.
Would appreciate any thoughts on this issue.
Thanks,
Sebas

Using our application is as strenuous as any game would be on your device (it uses GPU, CPU, network interfaces, and sound). There are some optimizations that could be looked into, but in the end, this is a resource intensive application and we can only do so much. As for the back cover/battery getting hot, it looks as though you have maps running in the background and it is looking for a location and possibly not finding one. With my personal experience, my phone gets hot when it is doing the same. I hope this helps.
