Desirable enhancements - better multitasking support, touchpad mode

Lightbulb Desirable enhancements - better multitasking support, touchpad mode

I'm using PocketCloud on a XOOM and it is quite handy. The main reason is that using PocketCloud Pro with NLA in conjunction with the Companion actually lets me remote desktop into work. This would be impossible with other solutions because our IT is having users access RDP through Cisco VPN, and as everyone is probably aware, Android does not currently support Cisco VPN. With PocketCloud, I can connect directly!

However, it's not a perfect app. I would really like to see these two main enhancements:

- Better multitasking support. A few versions back, PocketCloud gained rudimentary multitasking support with the ability to return to the home screen using the home button while maintaining the remote desktop connection. However, there is no visual indication that the connection is still active. The standard procedure here should be to put a persistent notification icon in the notification bar until the connection is closed. Also, on devices with glass back buttons or a virtual button (like Honeycomb tablets), it is quite easy to brush the Back button accidentally. A confirm disconnect prompt would help smooth that sharp edge.

- Remote desktop UI improvements. On tablet sized devices, it makes little sense to map the cursor directly to the user's touch position. A touchpad mode would be quite useful in that situation. A two-finger scrolling function (I believe this is already implemented on PocketCloud iPad) is also something conspicuously missing. Finally, the ability to turn off the two-finger zoom/pinch gesture would be very nice. I often find myself examining pixel-level detail, and resample blurring caused by accidental zooms is a constant irritation. Bonus points awarded if zooming could be configured as one of three options: pinch zoom off, pinch zoom snapped to integer multiples (no resampling blurriness), pinch zoom on.

It's a great product that works very nicely on Honeycomb. Hope some of the above enhancements are considered for implementation.
