Can't Connect to main Computer - Disconnected at start

Can't Connect to main Computer - Disconnected at start

I am using a MYTouch Slide and am trying to connect to my home PC which is running Win 7. In the WYSE Pocket Cloud Discovery windows everything shows that it is fine. On my phone, I can see my computer but when I try to connect it tries but only says disconnected. I keep getting asked for a VNC password also which I think is the same password as my Google account that I used to sign in. I have not entered any other passwords so I dont know what is wrong. I also cannot find where the Loopback option is. Is it on my home PC or is it on my phone? PLease help!

Hi,

It is asking your VNC password which you probably didn't enter while installing VNC.
If you are using TightVNC please follow next steps:
1) Right Click on VNC icon on your computer > Properties > Under Administrator tab check Allow loopback connection checkbox.
2) Under Server tab in Primary password field enter the password you want to use for VNC it could be the same password you already use. Also enter View Only password as well.
3) Apply > OK

So next time when you will make a connection and it will ask you for VNC password just enter VNC password.

Lana,

I did not have an Icon named VNC on my computer but did some research and discovered that I needed to install the TightVNC application and did. I made the changes you noted but still cannot connect. When I try from my phone, it just gives me a "Session Disconnect" message. Any othe roptions?.

Lana,

I do not have an Icon named VNC on my computer. What are you referring to? I installed the PocketCloud Windows Companion v2.1.5 am only get the Wyse Pocket Cloud Auto Discovery window when I start the program. Please walk me through the specific steps to find what you are referring to.

Thanks,

"Session disconnected" error when using VNC with Auto Discovery:

1) Right click on the VNC tray icon and select "Configuration".
2) Click on the "Access Control" tab.
3) Under "Loopback Connections" ensure that "Allow loopback connections" is checked.

Best regards

Lana,

I had checked the Loopback Connections Box already and it did not work. I am still being disconnected at start.

I am using the free version to make sure it works. I have Win 7 Professional. I got it to connect for a brief period and then it disconnected and has not been able to reconnect. For the brief period I had it working, I can tell this is a great app so I hope we can get it to work. Do you have to be close to the computer to get it to work, or can it work from far away? Does it have to have a Wifi connection?

Remote Assistance is also checked in my computer settings.

Are you using free or paid version of PocketCloud?
What Win 7 version do you have, Home Premium or Ultimate?

Please check if Remote Access is allowed on your PC.
On Home Premium:
Right click My Computer > Properties > Remote Settings > Allow Remote Assistance

On Ultimate:
Right click My Computer > Properties > Remote Settings > Allow connections from ...(less secure)
