WSM 1.4 Questions

Hello, We have been using WDM for several years but due to a new domain, we have decided to build a new server in the new domain. I have installed WSM 1.4 but honestly, I'm sure quite sure how to begin the process afterward. I watched some videos on the topic by Dell EMC that make it seem that as soon as you create a policy under groups and publish it, that the Wyse client should contact the server and progress but that's not what happens... I can see the traffic hitting the WMS server and DNS request in place but it fails right afterward with "Connect to WDM/CCM failed." Can someone ELI5 what I'm missing during the set up? Thanks.
