WMS Server was unable to complete your request due to Bad request received. please check the request.

Hello everyone,

We are facing an issue with Wyse Management Suite (WMS) license renewal and would appreciate your guidance.

After renewing our Standard WMS license, we re-entered the same license number that was previously in use. However, when we try to apply it, WMS returns the following error:

“WMS Server was unable to complete your request due to Bad request received. Please check the request.”

At this point, we would like to clarify the following:

  • After a Standard license renewal,
    is a new license key supposed to be generated, or
    should the existing license key continue to work?

  • Could this error indicate that the WMS server is unable to reach Dell licensing services (internet / outbound connectivity issue), causing the license validation to fail?

  • Are there any known issues or prerequisites (ports, URLs, certificates, WMS version compatibility) related to license renewal that we should verify?

The license renewal itself is confirmed on the Dell side, but we are unable to activate it in WMS due to this error.

Any insight or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone for the overwhelming support.

We eventually solved the issue on our own.

The post was clearly read, but no one felt the need to respond or assist. As a result, this thread will now live on as one of those cases where others might stumble upon it, curious about the root cause and the solution.

Unfortunately, despite having identified both the cause and the fix, we won’t be sharing them here.
