Highlights
Improved Peer to Peer (P2P) Remote Shadow
- Peer‑to‑Peer Remote Shadow performance has been enhanced, with noticeably faster connection times.
- To take advantage of this WMS 5.5 (2602) feature, the client operating system (OS) must also be upgraded to v2602 or later.
- Eligible OS: ThinOS 10, Windows 10 IoT Enterprise and Windows 11 IoT Enterprise.
- WMS Public Cloud Admins must Allow List the below new signaling server URL to their firewall to use this feature:
- US customers: URL: us1-relay-direct.wysemanagementsuite.com
- EU customers: URL: eu1-relay-direct.wysemanagementsuite.com
Support for screen capture from ThinOS10.x device
- WMS administrators can now capture screenshots directly from ThinOS 10.x devices. This feature works similarly to the existing functionality for Windows IoT Enterprise and Dell Hybrid Client thin clients and is now extended to ThinOS 10 2602 devices.
- To use this feature, Login to WMS > Navigate to Devices Page > Click on the desired device hyper link to navigate to Device Details page > Click on Troubleshooting tab > click Request Screen Shot button.
Reminder: WMS ends support for ThinOS 8.x, ThinLinux, Linux, Software Thin Client, DHC 1.x, Edge Gateway, Embedded PC
- Devices will stop connecting to WMS, will no longer receive policies, updates, or remote actions, and may no longer appear in relevant WMS UI areas.
- WMS will automatically remove resource files associated with those products.
- Their firmware, applications, BIOS files, OS images, and other related components will be deleted.

BE AWARE:
In August 2026, with the release of WMS 2608 (5.6), local credential login will be removed.
Customers who use local credentials will need to create a Dell Identity account by August. Please refer to this KnowledgeBase article for details on how to set up Dell Identity accounts and additional information on the upcoming local login removal.
More details will be communicated closer to release.
