Thin Client Registration Fails - WMS 1.3

Hello All,

This is my last resort for any type of support. I am trying to put a POC together for my client to use WMS for their thin clients, as they have over 200. i have a local onsite server with WMS 1.3 installed and a self signed cert. on the same network, i have my thin clients with DWA version 14 and when i go to register, it fails with "Status: Exception". Doesn't really tell me much. the logs show that the server is not trusted or requires a cert but in WMS i DO NOT have the check box ticked to require a cert. please help. logs below:
