Conditions to Rules

I am trying to create rules to auto-assign TC to my groups from the unmanaged section. Does anyone know how the conditions work? I am trying to use the custom conditions and have tried using Serial #'s and MAC addresses to get them to auto assign but it hasn't worked yet... Any advice?
